When you sign up with Tahoe Island Snow Removal, you’re making a plan for your property before winter weather becomes a daily concern.
We believe customers should know how service is scheduled, how updates arrive, and what’s included in their snow removal package. Here’s a look at how we work.
Your service starts with a clear scope
A good snow removal plan begins with understanding your property.
Your selected package or custom quote identifies the areas included in your service. That may be driveway clearing alone or a package that also includes designated walkways, stairs, and other hand-clearing areas.
Before the snow arrives, let us know about special access instructions, sensitive surfaces, obstacles, or the entrance you use most. These details help us plan your service with care.
What seasonal service means
Our regular season runs from November 15 through April 15, with service beginning earlier if the first qualifying snowfall occurs before November 15.
For standard residential accounts, service is triggered by four inches of accumulated snow. Your property is included on our route for qualifying storms throughout the season, subject to your service agreement.
Custom and commercial accounts may have different triggers or requirements, as outlined in their individual agreements.
How we work through a storm
Our crews follow planned routes through the neighborhoods we serve. This helps us organize service and move efficiently between properties.
Each storm brings different conditions. Heavy snowfall, difficult travel, and changing conditions can affect how quickly a route progresses, so arrival times can vary.
Snow may also continue falling after a property has been cleared. A completed visit reflects the clearing performed during that visit; ongoing snowfall can create new accumulation.
Updates that keep you informed
We use text notifications to help take the guesswork out of service.
You can expect an arrival notification approximately 20 minutes before the crew reaches your property, along with a notification after service is completed. Live mobile tracking provides another way to follow our progress.
Make sure your account includes a current mobile number and permission to receive service texts.
What happens if your package includes shoveling?
Driveway clearing and hand-clearing are handled by different crews.
Our equipment operators clear driveways, and our shovel crew follows to complete the walkways, stairs, and other areas included in your agreement. These services may take place at different times.
If you’d like an additional area cleared, contact us to discuss availability and a separate quote.
Planning around the access you need
A clear driveway is only part of the picture when you also need to reach a front door, use steps, or travel along an accessible ramp.
Tell us which routes matter most to you when requesting a quote. We can discuss a scope that includes those areas and reflects your property’s access needs.
This is especially helpful for customers arranging service for an older family member, managing a second home, or preparing a property for guests.
Helping us care for your property
Before service, please move vehicles and loose items out of designated clearing areas whenever possible.
We also ask that you identify features that may become hidden by snow, such as drains, low landscaping, or other obstacles. If something changes at the property during the season, a quick update helps our crew stay informed.
